Dynamo Earns A Draw Against Minnesota

Houston Dynamo 1-1 Minnesota United

HOUSTON, TX–Dynamo FC returned home to host Minnesota United on Saturday in Houston. After the suspension of the match against LAFC due to Hurricane Beryl that hit the city of Houston last week, the Dynamo finally played in front of its home crowd and earned a 1-1 draw against the Midwest squad.

This match was important for both squads because they both wanted to remain on playoff spots.

The difference in points between these two teams is only one. Therefore, a draw was not the ideal result.

Dynamo saw the return of Adalberto Carrasquilla and Sebastian Ferreira in their lineup. These players along Hector Herrera, Artur, and the Ibrahim Aliyu were in charge of getting the work done for the home team in offense, however, the visitors had a different plan.

As always, Houston played with a similar gameplan as coach Ben Olsen does not change much his style of play.

Now, when talking about the match, both squads were pretty even throughout the match creating chances to score. Even though the Orange created more chance to open the scoreboard, the visitors took the lead at the 70th minute when Robin Lod took advantage from a delivery from the left side to score the partial 1-0.

When there were only eight minutes left of the clock, Sebastian Ferreira scored the equalizer for Houston. This was the fifth goal for the Paraguayan.

After the 1-1 draw, Houston remains in a playoffs spot with 31 points and now they will travel west to play back-to-back games against San Jose and Vancouver in matches that will be crucial for the Texan squad to solidify their place in the MLS Playoffs before they start their Leagues Cup.
