Rapids, Red Bulls Remain Fourth in Draw

Colorado Rapids 1-1 New York Red Bulls

COMMERCE CITY, CO–Both the Rapids and Red Bulls remain fourth in their respective conferences following a 1-1 draw at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Red Bulls extend their unbeaten streak to six, but five of those matches have been draws It’s just one loss in the last seven for the Rapids (5-1-1).

The Red Bulls got on the board just before halftime as Lewis Morgan collected a ball from Dante Vanzeir for an easy finish. However, the Rapids would get the equalizer in the 64th minute as Keegan Rosenberry’s low cross was accidentally knocked in by Sean Nealis for an own goal.

It was a goalkeepers’ duel outside of that with Zak Steffen making six saves on the night and Carlos Coronel making four.

The Rapids travel to LA Galaxy on Wednesday for a 7:30pm PT kickoff (Apple TV) while the Red Bulls host CF Montreal where kickoff will be at 7:30pm ET (Apple TV).
