Thomas Muller has been banned for both games against Liverpool in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Muller, 29, received a straight red card after a bad tackle during Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw with Ajax in December and UEFA confirmed its disciplinary panel imposed a two-game suspension on the Germany forward.

The Bundesliga giants face Liverpool on February 19 at Anfield before welcoming them to the Allianz Arena on March 13.

Muller has been out of sorts somewhat this campaign with the Munich star finding the net just four times in the league and not scoring at all in the Champions League this term.

Ajax’s Maximilian Woeber will also miss the round of 16 games as the Dutch outfit square off against current holders Real Madrid. Woeber was also dismissed in the 3-3 stalemate with Bayern.
