Gotham FC 1-0 Racing Louisville
HARRISON, NJ–Gotham FC made it three on the trot after defeating Racing Louisville, 1-0, at Sports Illustrated Stadium on Sunday. The win vaults Gotham to fourth in the NWSL table while Racing remain second from bottom and have lost all five of their away matches thus far.
Gotham retained the same starting XI from Wednesday’s win against Chicago and again got on the board early. This time, it was in the 16th minute as Jordynn Dudley made a run into the box and and squeezed the ball through defenders to Jaedyn Shaw for a tap-in. It would be the only goal that they would need as Racing only managed five shots total and just one on target.
After no goals scored in their first three home matches, Gotham now have three successive clean sheets at home. Their third home match was the 0-0 draw against Orlando. It’s also three successive clean sheets overall now since the loss to Kansas City.
Next up for Gotham is another home match against Boston Legacy on Saturday. Kickoff is at 6:30pm ET on Ion. Racing will look to get back to winning ways on Friday at home against Portland on Friday at 6:30pm ET on NWSL+.
