FC Dallas 3-3 San Diego FC

FRISCO, TX–A Petar Musa hat trick was needed to snatch a point against high-flying San Diego FC for a 3-3 draw. The performance was enough to earn Musa Player of the Matchday honors for Matchday 4.

San Diego went ahead in the 21st minute after VAR caught a handball in the box by Dallas’s Shaquell Moore. Onni Valakari converted the spot kick to put the Chrome ahead. San Diego were awarded another penalty in the 31st minute as David Vasquezwas taken down in the box by Herman Johansson. Marcus Ingvartson took the spot kick this time to make it 2-0.

Musa would enter the picture in the 41st minute pulling one back after San Diego got caught playing the ball out of the back. Valikari added his second six minutes into the second half connecting on a cross from Alex Mighten making it 3-1.

Almost a minute later though, Pablo Sisniega collided with Bernard Kamungo inside the edge of the area and it was FCD’s turn to get a penalty. Musa duly converted the spot kick to make it 3-2.

Eight minutes of stoppage time was added to the end of the second half, but Dallas would need just five as Kamungo dribbled between two defenders before laying the ball off to Musa to complete his hat trick and rescore a point for FC Dallas.

Next up is a Texas Derby against Houston Dynamo on Saturday. Kickoff is at 7:30pm CT on Apple TV.
