FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution (9-8-16, 35 pts.) were defeated 4-1 versus Inter Miami CF (17-8-6, 56 pts) on Saturday night.
The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Chase Stadium to a crowd of 21,550.

The match kicked off with New England starting from the center circle as they elected to swiftly advance the ball into Inter Miami’s defensive third.
New England had the first and arguably the best chance of the half in the 8th minute when a quickly taken freekick was sent toward the back post and headed on by defender Brandon Bye, however, his effort struck the crossbar and was cleared away.
Lionel Messi had the first chance for Inter Miami in the 14th minute when his left footed shot from distance was comfortably claimed by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Tadeo Allende had the next chance for Inter Miami just one minute later when an effort toward goal was met with a spectacular parry save by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Entering the 16th minute, Inter Miami had thought that they had taken the lead when Rodrigo De Paul got in-behind and scored but the play was later called back due to offsides.

Tadeo Allende had another effort towards goal in the 20th minute, however, his effort was blocked away by defender Will Sands and was cleared.
Lionel Messi had yet another effort towards goal in the 24th minute that was deflected by Brayan Ceballos and claimed by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
In the 28th minute, Revolution defender Brayan Ceballos was issued a yellow card for a harsh late foul on Baltasar Rodríguez.
Entering the 31st minute, Inter Miami CF took the lead.
Forward Lionel Messi found forward Tadeo Allende in-behind entering the right side of the box as Allende took a touch and then slotted the ball into the bottom left corner to make it 1-0 to Inter Miami CF.
Lionel Messi had yet another chance towards goal in the 35th minute that was blocked and deflected away by defender Brayan Ceballos.
Just two minutes later, Baltasar Rodríguez had the next chance for Inter Miami when his long-distant effort went very high and over the net.
New England’s next chance came via a corner kick in the 43rd minute when a cross into the area by Carles Gil was headed away and was cleared.
Entering the 45th minute, Inter Miami had thought they had scored yet another goal when Lionel Messi had scored a chip-goal over Matt Turner, however, Alba was offsides in the build-up.
Entering the 45+3 minute, Inter Miami added to their lead.
Forward Lionel Messi found defender Jordi Alba for the simple tap-in from within six-yards to make it 2-0 to Miami.

Prior to the start of the second half, Revolution interim head coach Pablo Moreira made his first two changes of the match by replacing Allan Oyirwoth & Mamadou Fofana with Luca Langoni & Alhassan Yusuf.
The second half kicked off with Inter Miami CF starting from the center circle as they elected to swiftly advance the ball into New England’s defensive third.
Luis Suárez had the first chance of the half for Inter Miami CF when his headed effort in the 52nd minute when high over the bar.
Just three minutes later, Lionel Messi had an amazing chance to add to the scoreline when he got in-behind and had a left-footed toe-poke past Matt Turner that snuck just wide of the net.
Leo Campana had the next chance for New England in the 57th minute when his headed effort snuck just wide of the left post.
Entering the 58th minute, New England pulled one back.
Forward Dor Turgeman elected for a long-distant right footed shot that snuck into the middle right of the net to make it 2-1.
Less than 30 seconds later, Inter Miami added to their lead.
Straight from kickoff, Lionel Messi found Tadeo Allende in-behind to score past Matt Turner to make it 3-1 to Inter Miami.
In the 60th minute, Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano made his first change of the match by replacing Baltasar Rodríguez with Telasco Segovia.
Entering the 62nd minute, Miami added to their lead again.
Defender Jordi Alba snuck past Brandon Bye and slotted it off the right post and in to make it 4-1 to Inter Miami CF.
Carles Gil had the next chance for New England when his left-footed effort in the 65th minute snuck just wide of the net.
In the 70th minute, Revolution interim head coach Pablo Moreira made his third change of the match by replacing Leo Campana with Tomás Chancalay.
Matt Polster had the next chance for New England in the 73rd minute when his long distant effort was comfortably saved by goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo.
Less than 30 seconds later, Dor Turgeman had a close chance of his own that was saved once more by Rocco Ríos Novo.

Tomás Chancalay had a chance of his own in the 75th minute that was deflected out by Noah Allen for a corner kick.
In the 77th minute, Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano made his second change of the match by replacing Sergio Busquets with Yannick Bright.
Tomás Chancalay had yet another chance in the 79th minute that was met with a save by goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo & out for a corner kick.
Inter Miami’s next chance came just three minutes later when Lionel Messi unleashed a low-driven shot that was comfortably saved by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Less than a minute later, Alhassan Yusuf had a very good chance to score but sent his headed effort wide left of the net. New England should have scored there.
In the 86th minute, Inter Miami CF midfielder Rodrigo De Paul was issued a yellow card for a foul on midfielder Carles Gil.
The ensuing freekick from Gil led to a header by Tomás Chancalay that was deflected over the bar by goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo.
In the 88th minute, Inter Miami defender Maximiliano Falcón was issued a yellow card for shoving Brayan Ceballos off the ball prior to a corner kick.
In the 90th minute, Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano made his third & fourth changes of the match by replacing Noah Allen & Ian Fray with Tomás Avilés & Gonzalo Luján.
After the 90+4 minutes, the match concluded with Inter Miami CF holding on for the 5-1 victory over New England.
