Andrej Subotić’s late goal leads Crown Legacy to victory over Revolution II

FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution II (13-7-6, 51 pts.) were defeated 1-0 versus Crown Legacy FC (6-8-13, 29 pts.) on Friday afternoon.

The match kicked off at 3:00 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium.

The match kicked off with Crown Legacy starting from the center circle as they elected to build out of the back to begin the match.

Crown Legacy had the first moment of the match when a shot by Emmanuel Uchegbu was deflected just wide of the net by Hesron Barry as it trickled out for a corner kick.

Gevork Diarbian had the first chance of the match for New England when his one-on-one on the left flank led to a shot that snuck just wide of the right post in the 7th minute.

Victor Souza had a massive opportunity in the 11th minute when his headed effort from a freekick was met with a fantastic save by goalkeeper Isaac Walker.

In the 18th minute, New England Revolution II defender Hesron Barry was issued a yellow card for an off ball foul prior to a corner kick.

Cristiano Oliveira had the next chance for New England in the 26th minute when his volleyed effort was blocked away by Aron John and cleared.

New England Revolution II’s next chance came yet again from Oliviera, this time in the 33rd minute, when his effort towards goal was shot directly at goalkeeper Isaac Walker & was comfortably saved.

Less than a minute later, Crown Legacy had their next chance when an effort by Mikah Thomas on the left flank was sent very wide of the left post.

Donovan Parisian came up big for New England in the 39th minute when he had two crucial double-saves against Nimfasha Berchimas & Thiago Rodrigues that were then cleared away.

After the initial 45 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 0-0.

The second half began with New England Revolution II starting from the center circle as they elected to swiftly advance the ball into Crown Legacy FC’s defensive third.

Nimfasha Berchimas had the first effort of the second half when his shot was saved by goalkeeper Donovan Parisian in the 48th minute.

Less than a minute later, Mikah Thomas had yet another effort towards goal that was met with yet another save by Donovan Parisian.

Just three minutes later, in the 52nd minute, Crown Legacy FC forward Mikah Thomas was issued a yellow card for a shove-in-the-back foul on Gabe Dahlin.

In the 58th minute, Crown Legacy head coach Gary Dicker made his first two changes of the match by replacing Dylan Sing & Baye Coulibaly with Andrej Subotić & Simon Tonidandel.

Crown Legacy had the next chance of the match just two minutes later when a volleyed effort towards goal by Aron John went high and wide over the net.

In the 62nd minute, Revolution II midfielder Javaun Mussenden was issued a yellow card for a harsh foul just outside the box on Nimfasha Berchimas.

Revolution II head coach Richie Williams made his first four changes of the match in the 67th minute when he replaced Hesron Barry, Javaun Mussenden, Liam Butts & Damario McIntosh with Damorney Hutchinson, Grant Emerhi, Joe Buck, & Michael Tsicoulias.

In the 71st minute, Crown Legacy head coach Gary Dicker made his third & fourth changes of the match by replacing Mikah Thomas & Aron John with Adrian Mendoza & Assane Ouedraogo.

Entering the 75th minute, Crown Legacy took the lead.

Following a give-and-go on the left flank with Assane Ouedraogo, Andrej Subotić managed to get in-behind and slot the ball past goalkeeper Donovan Parisian to give Crown Legacy the 1-0 advantage.

In the 80th minute, Crown Legacy FC midfielder Simon Tonidandel was issued a yellow card for a foul on Gevork Diarbian.

Crown Legacy head coach Gary Dicker made his fifth & final change of the match in the 84th minute by replacing Emmanuel Uchegbu with Brian Romero.

Less than a minute later, Revolution II head coach Richie Williams made his final change of the match by replacing Gevork Diarbian with Sharod George.

In the 90+4 minute, Revolution II midfielder Grant Emerhi was issued a yellow card.

After the 90+7 minutes, the match concluded with Crown Legacy holding on for the 1-0 victory.

With the result, New England remain in 3rd place in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference Standings.
