Ever since losing the NFL Chargers, the city of San Diego has been fighting to prove itself as a premiere hub for sports culture. That fight culminated in history last night, as San Diego FC took the field for their first ever home match.

Everything about this game felt symbolic of feelings that San Diego sports fans have carried for the past several years, the air was electrified in the same space that their old football team used to play.

To be able to witness this history as a lifelong San Diego fan, while representing the new partnership between SDSU and Prost International was an absolute pleasure.

While the game itself may not have entirely matched the feeling of the night (check out the match recap here), it will still be remembered by many as a major step forward for San Diego.
