Rhode Island FC sign forward Maxi Rodriguez

SMITHFIELD, RI– Rhode Island FC have signed midfielder Maximiliano “Maxi” Rodriguez upon expiration of his contract with Detroit City FC.

He will occupy a senior roster slot.

Maximiliano “Maxi” Rodriguez is a 29-year-old, 5’11 170lb midfielder from San Antonio, Texas.

At the club level, Rodriguez has played 201 career games (15,231 minutes) across the United States. Rodriguez began his career with San Antonio FC (2017-18). Following the end of his stint in San Antonio, Rodriguez joined USL League One side Richmond Kickers (2019). He then signed for NISA side Detroit City FC (2021-2024) and helped assist in their jump to the USL Championship.

He was a member of the USL Championship First Team All-League in 2o24.

In total career numbers, the midfielder has contributed 40 career goals, 15 assists, along with 38 yellow cards and 1 red card.
