Evander’s brace last night’s match earned him a Matchday Team of the Week spot.

SEPTEMBER 18, 2024 – PORTLAND, OR: Timbers Jonah Rodríguez volley is saved by Galaxy goal keeper during MLS Regular Season Los Angeles Galaxy at Portland Timbers by Diego G Diaz.

Evander and Jonathan Rodriguez have both been selected for the MLS Team of the Matchday for Week 33. Both players delivered amazing performances to help their team secure an important midweek win.

Jonathan Rodriguez scored the opening goal in the 18th minute, followed by two goals from Evander in the 39th and 51st minutes. This outstanding performance earned Evander the Brazilian Player of the Matchday title and has positioned him as a strong candidate for League MVP.

This is the first time that three Portland Timber players have each scored fourteen goals, with Felipe Mora, Jonathan Rodriguez, and Evander being the players mentioned in league discussions. It’s unclear how many times Evander has been selected for the Team of the Matchday.
