Neco Williams is thriving at Fulham, but will he ever do the same at Anfield

Neco Williams has been looking for regular game time ever since he made his debut for Liverpool in that action-packed 5-5 (5-4) penalty shootout win over Arsenal back in October 2019.

And what better team to find that outside of the Premier League than with EFL Championship front runners Fulham.

Despite making enough appearances for Liverpool to earn himself a Premier League winners medal and a new long-term contract with the Merseyside team the Welshman would do well to displace current first-team starting right-back Alexander Arnold who’s been in brilliant form.

In order for him to develop further and add to his footballing CV, Fulham were seen as the perfect candidate for Neco Williams to gain that all-important experience with.

Fulham look certain to become a Premier League outfit for the third time in the last three years next season as they sit 14 points clear of closest title challengers Bournemouth whilst having the likes of striker Alexander Mitrovic fit and in red hot form.

The Serbian recently broke Ivan Toney’s record for the most goals scored in a championship season with 14 games to go when he scored his 32nd and 33rd of the season in a 2-1 win over Peterborough which Neco Williams also featured.

The 20-year-old looks to have already developed a partnership with his team’s star striker Mitrovic assisting him with a ball some fans described as ‘Alexander Arnold esque’ in the recent game vs Hull City which saw the London side come out victorious 0-1.

The Talented right-back went on loan on deadline day as part of the negotiations for Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho to come the other way and join the reds however the deal fell through due to lack of time.

Since moving to Craven Cottage Neco Williams has been in fine form registering two assists and more recently two goals, one of which he scored in spectacular fashion with a half volley from the edge of the area helping his side to a 5-1 victory away from home to Swansea.

Neco Williams will have really given manager Marco Silva something to think about since he joined with other first-choice right-back Kenne Tete sidelined due to a groin injury.

With the opportunity of playing in the 2022 world cup in Qatar on the horizon as Wales still have qualifiers to play in order to determine whether they book their spot in the highly anticipated tournament.

Williams will be looking to finish the season strong in order to cement his place in Robert Pages Wales side and even challenge Alexander Arnold’s spot at right-back with parent club Liverpool?
