Joe Root set to feature in Yorkshire’s opening two games

Joe Root is set to feature in Yorkshire’s opening two County Championship fixtures this summer with potential of more to come.

The England captain has had a busy year already but is currently earning some rest from England’s white ball tour of India.

Due to the Bio secure International bubbles he didn’t feature for the White rose last season with his most recent outings coming against Nottinghamshire and Hampshire in 2019.

Root and his teammates will begin the campaign with a visit from Glamorgan before they travel south to face Kent just a week later.

England’s first match of the summer commences on June 2nd against New Zealand.
