Everton travel to Molineux with the chance of moving into the Champions League places

Wolves host Everton on Tuesday night in a clash which is set to be an absolute cracker in the Premier League. Both sides will be aiming to build on hard-fought victories last weekend in the FA Cup.

The hosts saw off fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace with a rare Adama Traore strike. The visitors eventually overcame Championship strugglers Rotherham in extra time with Cenk Tosun and Abdoulaye Docouré grabbing the goals at Goodison Park

The Turkish international Tosun could be in line for only his third league appearance of the season with top scorer Dominic Calvert Lewin missing this fixture with a hamstring problem. Carlo Ancelotti is sweating on the fitness of Richarlison as well, who also missed out against The Millers.

The West Midlanders ended a streak of four games without a win on Friday night, beating Palace on their own turf. Now at home again against The Toffees they will be hoping to pick up some kind of form and move up the table as it has been a somewhat fruitful campaign so far for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.

With only one win in their last seven in the top flight, they’ll be hoping young man Fabio Silva can make an impression on the big stage, as he has failed to draw much attention to his performances thus far. Nuno has called on the highly anticipated Portuguese frontman to be more clinical. Patrick Cutrone could be called into action for the first time in the league this season for the hosts after being recalled from his loan spell at Fiorentina.

Not only problems in attack for Wanderers, but they’ve also shipped at least one goal in their last ten Premier League matches. Only bottom of the table Sheffield United have gone on a longer run without keeping a clean sheet.

The absence of Raul Jimenez has been well and truly felt at Molineux. A player that added so much more than just goals up top, and it is still not known when exactly the Mexican could be involved again after a serious head injury back in November.

With narrow wins against Rotherham and Sheffield United before that, the Everton faithful will be hoping their side don’t make this match as difficult as recent ones. However, the Blue’find themselves in in 7th place ahead of the clash and a win would take Ancelotti’s team to 4th placeSo, it isn’t looking too bad for the Toffees, but it has been an up and down season up to this point.

Both sides do have some injuries of their own, jsut like a lot of the other Premier League clubs with so many fixtures in close proximity during this whirlwind of a season.

Daniel Podence and Marcal who have recently picked up injuries are joining Jonny and Jimenez on the Wolves injury list, also Willy Boly could be a doubt for this game.

Allan will be missing out for the majority of the season after his injury against Leicester in December, with the Toffee’s not really spoilt for choice in midfield with Fabian Delph and Jean-Phillip Gbamin all still sidelined.

It’s sure to be a terrific contest which could go either way.
