Frankfurt remain in the pursuit of three points as they pay a visit to Wolfsburg

Eintracht Frankfurt remain in the pursuit of three points, while Wolfsburg won 4-1 win last time out against Bayer Leverkusen. The Volkswagen Arena will be hosting the clash on Saturday.

The Eagles have failed win a game since the restart of the Bundesliga, in fact since February. They did show signs of hope after grabbing a point last Tuesday in a dramatic 3-3 draw against SC Freiburg. Nonetheless, their place in the Bundesliga is an unstable matter, sitting in 14th.

Meanwhile, the Wolves received only 34 and have decent momentum after beating Leverkusen by four goals to one away from home. The spotlight was on Maximilian Arnold who will be looking to extend on his good form, he scored a goal and provided two earlier this week on Tuesday making him the most creative Wolf with seven assists.

Wolfsburg are currently trying to solidify their position in the sixth place with 42 points, three points ahead of seventh  positioned Hoffenheim.

Their achilles’ heel stands however at their home record where they are the 13th in the league, a point Hutter’s men will try and exploit on Saturday.

Team news

Wolfsburg’s injury list is of a considerable size with  Paulo Otavio, William, Ignacio Camacho, Joshua Guilavogui, Mamoudou Karamoko and Yannick Gerhardt all remain unavailable.

Felix Klaus is suspended meaning a number of the first team personnel will be missing this weekend.

As for Frankfurt David Abraham, Goncalo Paciencia and Marco Russ are all still injured.

Eintracht Franfurt manager Adolf Hutter spoke about the inconsistency of his team and not creating enough chances:

“We need to go about things in a measured way. We’re putting the work in and getting too little in return. We need to keep the opposition’s chances to a minimum because we know that we’ll always be capable of scoring goals. The problems aren’t when we attack, it’s not defending as a unit. Shipping too many goals isn’t down to our system, it’s consistency. We need to do better at that in Wolfsburg because they’re a quality opponent.”

VfL Wolfsburg manager Oliver Glasner praised his men after an impressive 4-1 victory again Bayer Leverkusen

“I’m very satisfied and proud of the team for playing like that just three days after a very tough game against Dortmund. Congratulations to the players for a great performance.”
