Inter take on Fiorentina in the last quarter-final clash in the Coppa Italia

Inter Milan host Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia quarter-final with the winner of this fixture going up against Napoli in the semi-final of this competition.

A draw split both sides last time they met with Borja Valero scoring in the eighth minute and Dusan Vlahovic equalising in injury time.

Despite having a unique season, Inter have been disappointing recently. Antonio Conte’s men have drawn in their last three games in the league failing to score more than one goal in each contest.

The Nerazzurri still possess dangerous tools in Romelu Lukaku who scored 14 goals in the league this season but haven’t found the net in his last two games. Lautaro Martinez has been on a good form scoring three goals in the last four games. The Argentinian will look to impress before serving his two match ban.

The hosts are nonetheless affected by injuries, Marcelo Brozovic, Roberto Gagliardini and Kwadwo Asamoah won’t be present.

Ex-Fiorentina players Borja Valero and Matias Vecino might then be starting against their former club.

New names such as Ashley Young and Victor Moses are expected to start whereas Christian Eriksen is unlikely to have enough time to be registered to participate.

Meanwhile, the visitors are unbeaten in 2020 and recently remarkably winning by two goals against Napoli in the San Paolo but have only kept one clean sheet in the last four games.

Unfortunately for the Gigliaati, Manager Giuseppe Iachini won’t be able to employ injured midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli but a Milan Badelj return is probable.

The Viola will try and exploit counter attacks and catching Inter off guard and will be relying on Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa’s pace and technique to upset La Beneamata.
