Bournemouth take on Brighton in the early 12:30 kick off with both teams sat just above the drop zone.

Both teams sit on 20 points in the Premier League with Brighton just above the Cherries on goal difference.

Last time out for the Seagulls, they faced Spurs on Boxing Day with Brighton able to get in the lead through Adam Webster. In the end, Tottenham’s power came through and goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane were able to secure the three points for Spurs.

Bournemouth played at the Vitality Stadium against Arsenal. Dan Gosling opened the scoring in the 35th minute with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalising for the Gunners with both sides taking one point from the fixture.

Brighton will be without Jose Izquierdo and Solly March with both scheduled to be back to fitness in the New Year.

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk missed the Boxing Day match against Tottenham because of illness and will be assessed for the visit of Bournemouth.

Davy Propper, Leandro Trossard and Neal Maupay are among the players pushing for a return to the starting line-up.

The Cherries will be without Nathan Ake, Adam Smith, Lloyd Kelly, Charlie Daniels, Simon Francis and David Brooks for Saturday’s game, with all six currently sidelined through injury.

Full-back Diego Rico is available again after serving a one-match suspension.

Brighton manager Graham Potter reflected on the small margins which went against Albion after they lost 2-1 to Spurs on Boxing Day this afternoon.

“I thought it was quite an even game in terms of shots and chances and you would expect Tottenham to have a bit of pressure. It is disappointing to come away with nothing.

“Overall, I have no real complaints, but the small margins that turn this into a game where we come away with something is what we have to work on.

“We had a lot of good play in the first half and we had a great chance through Aaron Connolly at 1-0 which didn’t go our way.

“But we can’t feel sorry for ourselves, we have to dust ourselves down and prepare for another game on Saturday against AFC Bournemouth.”

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says the Cherries are “kicking themselves” after conceding a second-half equaliser to allow Arsenal to earn a 1-1 draw at Vitality Stadium.

“We were a little bit more proactive and we created a few chances to score.

“It is a quick turnaround, less work on the training pitch more through mentality.

“Well we’ve been okay against the big teams, it’s now all about getting better results against the other sides in the league.”
