In a 12-minute firefight, Derek ‘WAR’ Chisora dropped and stopped British rival David Price to secure a dominant victory.
Price’s corner threw in the towel after the Liverpudlian was sent to the canvas following a flurry of hooks in the fourth.
From round one Chisora marauded forward, displaying his newly-found upper body movement to close the range on the taller Price.
Chisora instantly got to work on his opponent, targeting the body in an attempt slow the legs of Price down. Price appeared gun shy from the get-go, looking tense and under pressure throughout.
However, the 6ft 8 man did momentarily stun Chisora at the end of the third round. In a hostile exchange, Price landed an uppercut on Chisora, buckling the legs of the 35-year-old – the latter humorously admitted the shot made him do a “salsa dance” afterwards.
But it proved too little, too late as Chisora managed to regather his senses in-between rounds.
And that would prove decisive as a barrage of punches sent Price to the canvas in a heap. Struggling to get to his feet and breathing heavily, the writing seemed on the wall for the former Olympic Bronze medallist.
Price’s corner took the brave decision to throw in the towel and put a firm stop to proceedings.
A fun fight while it lasted and for the winner, Derek Chisora, big fights await in 2020.
