Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin: Preview

Tyson Fury returns to Sin City this weekend as he faces undefeated underdog Otto Wallin. Fury was successful in his previous outing in Vegas, dispatching Tom Schwarz with relative ease, will he cruise to another win this weekend?

The Manchester native is heading into his fifth fight since his comeback from a two year lay-off. The Brit has furthered his undefeated record since, the only blip? The widely disputed draw against Deontay Wilder. Fury will be coming up against Otto Wallin as he looks to make further in-rows toward a title shot.

Wallin is a something of an unknown in this contest, the Swedish native has predominantly fought in Europe for the vast majority of his career, with his last fight being his first ever outside of the continent. Otto comes in boasting 20 wins, 13 inside the distance and zero losses to date in his career.

Whilst this appears impressive on paper, the Swede has fought nobody of noteworthy status. He faces a huge challenge with the step-up in quality, Fury is considered by many to be the best heavyweight from a technical standpoint in the division.

Whilst many are already aware of Fury’s incredible movement, tricky hands and unbreakable will, there is little knowledge about what Wallin brings to the table. Fighting out of the southpaw stance, the man from Sweden has sparred with the likes of Anthony Joshua, Kubrat Pulev and Jarrell Miller. Whilst he may be undefeated since he turned pro, Wallin had a less than spectacular career as an amateur, losing to Anthony Joshua twice via points, he compiled a rather lacklustre 34-12 record before becoming a professional.

On the flip side, Fury has impressed since his sabbatical from the sport. Whilst he may not have fought the most spectacular of names aside from Deontay Wilder, Fury showed against the ‘Bronze Bomber’ that he can still compete at the highest level. With the two set for another bout next year, it seems Fury is doing nothing more than keeping busy and keeping himself fresh whilst awaiting the sequel bout with Wilder.

With the Brit dispatching his last opponent with complete ease, it seems hard to think that this fight doesn’t follow the same trend. Fury has highlighted his intense training regime throughout this camp, spending the past five weeks over in America as he finalised his preparations.

The former Heavyweight champion looks to be in the best shape since his return and can be expected to dispatch his inexperienced opponent in similar fashion to Tom Schwarz. The lack of experience for Wallin and clear gulf in class between the two should prove to see Fury win this bout with relative ease. With the British heavyweight continuing to try and impress the American fans as a means of growing his brand, fans can expect a similarly spectacular performance that was seen against Tom Schwarz.
