Fulham host Everton hoping to avoid a tenth consecutive defeat for the home side in a season that has already seen the relegated. It is 14 games and 102 days since Fulham conceded less than two goals and that was their home game against Huddersfield, the only side worse than the Cottagers in the division. 33 goals have been conceded in that 13 game spree with just 12 scored.
Their Merseyside visitors however travel to the banks of the Thames in superb form having won three in a row without conceding all against London sides. They scored five goals in the process, and their joy will be enlivened by the fact that they came from five different goalscorers; Phil Jagielka, Kurt Zouma, Bernard, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Yerry Mina might not return this season but Toffees fans can be more optimistic that they will see Michael Keane or Morgan Schneiderlin back on Saturday if coach Marco Silva anticipates any changes. Keane withdrew from the last game, the win over Arsenal, shortly before kick off with his replacement Jagielka, scoring the only goal.
Fulham’s Alfie Mawson is unlikely to be fit until the following weekend.
Everton won the sides’ previous meeting at Goodison Park 3-0 with Sigurdsson scoring twice around a Cenk Tosun header. The Icelander also missed a penalty.
There is no reason to think that Everton will not comfortable do the double and extend their ‘capital conquests’ to four.
