PSG star Neymar charged over comments after loss to Manchester United

Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian winger Neymar has been charged after his comments on social media following his sides loss to Manchester United in the Champions League.

The comments which were deemed an “act of insult towards the match officials” were posted on the forwards Instagram account following a VAR decision giving United a penalty in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Marcus Rashford stepped up to take the stop kick and converted it meaning that the English side progressed after winning 3-1 at the Parc des Princes, progressing on away goals.

The VAR panel awarded the penalty after ruling Diogo Dalot’s shot that hit Presnel Kimpembe on the arm had stopped Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team from having a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Originally Slovenian referee Damir Skomina gave a corner but after he received a signal from the VAR Panel to check for a possible handball in the box he changed his mind.

Neymar who missed both legs of the tie after injuring his metatarsal back in January was forced to watch from the stands however the winger was adamant that the VAR decision wasn’t correct saying on his post:

“This is a disgrace, they put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR.

“There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back! Go **** yourselves!”

It is yet to be said whether he will face a ban for his outburst.

Manchester United will now face FC Barcelona in the Quarter-Finals of the UEFA Champions League, following PSG getting knocked out no French sides remain in both of European competitions.
