Ronaldo charged for celebration against Atletico

Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged by UEFA for his celebration in Juventus’ last 16 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.

The former Real Madrid great scored a hattrick as Juventus overturned a 2-0 first leg defeat into a 3-2 triumph.

Ronaldo, 34, celebrated one of his goals by grabbing his crotch, a celebration which landed Atletico manager Diego Simeone a £17,000 fine after he celebrated on the touchline in the same manner after Madrid’s second goal in the first leg.

Simeone apologised two days later and said his gestured showed he had the courage to make tough decisions.

Ronaldo has been charged with improper conduct by UEFA.
