Champions League quarter-final draw: Tottenham face Manchester City as Barcelona travel to Old Trafford

Tottenham will host Manchester City in the first all English tie since City played against Liverpool last season. Meanwhile, Manchester rivals United will see Spanish Giants FC Barcelona come to Old Trafford for the first leg in what is their first meeting since the 2011 final, were Barcelona defeat the Red Devils 3-1.

City lost over two legs to Liverpool last season, with the Anfield based club going on to become losing finalists against Real Madrid.

It was the first time since 2009 that four English sides had made it into the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League with Tottenham hosting the Citizens being the only match that two English side’s meet in.

If Spurs go through it will be their first semi-final in their 136-year existence. City made it to the last four in the 2015-2016, though they lost to Real Madrid who went on to lift the trophy.

United will have to play their first leg at home after initially being drawn away to FC Barcelona, this is due to a ruling by local authorities. This ruled that City and United could not play at home on the same or consecutive days in Europe.

For manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he will be back in the Nou Camp where he scored the famous winning goal against Bayern Munich in 1999.

Elsewhere in Merseyside Liverpool host FC Porto in a repeat of last season’s round of 16 tie, Liverpool beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in Germany while the away side Porto defeated Italian side, Roma.

Last time that the two sides played each other was at Anfield, the second leg was drawn 0-0 while the English club won 5-0 in Portugal the first time around.

Dutch side Ajax will host Juventus in the final match of the Quarter-Finals, Ajax progressed after beating Real Madrid 4-1 at the Bernabeu while Juventus also overturned their first-leg deficit to beat a Madrid side as they won 3-0 at home to Atletico Madrid as Cristiano Ronaldo netted a hat-trick

Italian side Juventus are unbeaten in their last ten meetings with Ajax, winning five of the last six. The last time these two met in Europe was in the 2009/2010 Europa League campaign. Juve won 2-1 on aggregate after winning in Holland.
