Fulham striker Kamara arrested on suspicion of ABH and criminal damage

Fulham striker Aboubakar Kamara has been arrested by police on suspicion of actual bodily harm and criminal damage, according to BBC Sport.

The true identity of the individual has not been confirmed by the police or the club; however, a statement released by the London club said that the person arrested was now “banned indefinitely from all club activities”.

The Metropolitan Police said a man in his 20’s was arrested at a training ground in New Malden on Monday and taken into custody in a south London police station.

Kamara has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season; however, since moving to Craven Cottage from French side Amiens in 2017, he has not been shy of controversy during his time with the Lilywhites.

The French striker reportedly had a falling out with Aleksandar Mitrovic during a squad yoga session and was said to be at the club’s training ground looking to resolve his future.

Earlier this season, newly appointed boss Claudio Ranieri said he “wanted to kill” the Frenchman after Kamara missed a penalty against Huddersfield Town having refused to allow designated penalty-taker Mitrovic to take the opportunity.

A statement released by Fulham said:

“The club is grateful for the swift attention and action by the Metropolitan Police.

“We will refrain from further comment but stress that we will fully cooperate with any new or continuing investigation or legal proceeding in the name of providing everyone a secure and safe working environment.”
