Balotelli completes Marseille move

Mario Balotelli has completed his transfer from Nice to Marseille on a six-month contract.

The Italian forward had only featured nine times for Patrick Vieria’s men and failed to score a single goal this season before making the switch to the south of France.

Balotelli enjoyed a successful first two seasons with Nice scoring 42 goals in 64 appearances before his form tailed off during the current campaign.

He is expected to earn around £2.7 million in wages during his six-month spell at the Stade Vélodrome.

The former Manchester City striker had attracted interest from some Premier League clubs with West Ham United rumoured to be interested in the 28-year-old.

Balotelli could make his debut for Marseille on Friday when they square off in a huge Ligue 1 clash against Lille.
