Argentina is back in business as they really delivered a one-of-a-kind match where Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 10th minute, followed by Julian Alvarez scoring in the 112th minute and later with Lautaro Martinez scoring in the 120th +1 to defeat Switzerland, 3-1.

Argentina are in the semifinals for a seventh time at the World Cup. They have won their previous six.

For Switzerland, Dan Ndoye scored in the 67th minute, but were reduced to ten men five minutes later after Breel Embolo saw a second yellow in the 72nd minute after VAR determined he was simulating to draw a yellow on Leandro Paredes.

Argentina will play England in Atlanta, Georgia, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM ET, in another chapter of their storied history between the two teams at the World Cup.
