Seattle Sounders FC 0-2 LA Galaxy
SEATTLE, WA–It had to happen sometime, and it happened on Saturday night as Seattle Sounders FC’s long home unbeaten streak of 22 in all competitions came to an end at the hands of LA Galaxy, 2-0, at Lumen Field. It was the first loss at Lumen Field for the Sounders since losing to current European Champions Paris-St. Germain during the Club World Cup in June 2025. The loss also snaps a nine-match unbeaten streak in league play.
LA Galaxy’s win puts them above the playoff line in ninth place in the Western Conference table. The Sounders drop to fourth in the West with Real Salt Lake winning over Colorado on Saturday.
Galaxy took the lead in the 23rd minute as Marco Reus sent a thru-ball to Gabriel Pec who got in behind the defense and blasted the ball past Andrew Thomas.

The Sounders pressed for an equalizer, but they could not find a way past JT Marcinkowski who made six saves on the evening, including a spectacular one on Paul Arriola before the hour mark. LA eventually got their second in second half stoppage time as Pec fed Matheus Nascimento for an easy finish on a counterattack.
Both teams play their final match before the World Cup break next weekend. Seattle travel to LAFC next Sunday (6pm PT, Apple TV/Fox), while LA Galaxy host Houston Dynamo next Saturday (7:30pm PT, Apple TV).
