A huge win on the road for the Portland Timbers, breaking their winless streak over San Diego FC, 2-1. Kevin Kelsy and Andre Bonetig, the man from Down Under, delivered the icing on the cake.
With Kevin Kelsy scoring in the 26th minute and, later, Alex Bonetig in the 96th, these chaps delivered some breathing room for manager Phil Neville, looking to lift the Timbers who were previously winless on the road. Andre Dreyer scored from a penalty, the only goal for San Diego F.C.
Still, there’s lots of work to be performed by the Portland Timbers if they would like a shot for the offseason as well as salvaging their season in the end, That start next Saturday at Real Salt Lake (1:30pm PT, Apple TV/FOX).
