Little Mountain’s journey ends against Aruba

Canada 1-6 Aruba

WILLIAMSPORT, PA–The Little Mountain Little League of Vancouver’s time at the Little League World Series came to an end on Tuesday with a 6-1 loss to the Aruba Central LL representing the Caribbean. At the time of this post, Aruba has since defeated Japan, 3-0, to advance to the International semifinal against Barquisimeto, Venezuela on Thursday for the right to take on Chinese Taipei in Satruday’s International Final.

Vancouver’s missed opportunity came in the fourth inning. Trailing 4-1, they had bases loaded with just one out, but they failed to score. Vancouver’s only run came in the first inning before Aruba would score six unanswered. The Canadian Champions finish 1-2 at the Little League World Series.

Despite the result, well done to the Vancouver’s Little Mountain Little League on reaching the Little League World Series. They were British Columbia’s 32nd representative in the Little League World Series all time.

On the US side of the Little League brackets, Fairfield, CT, awaits the winner between the Summerlin South LL of Las Vegas and the Irmo, SC.  The US and Internationals are on Saturday on ABC with the championship game on Sunday–also on ABC.
