Colorado Rapids 0-1 Orlando City SC

COMMERCE CITY, CO–The Colorado Rapids dropped their third straight match after losing to Orlando City, 1-0, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids stay in the ninth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, but by just one point with FC Dallas winning at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

The Rapids outshot Orlando, 14-7, but could only get two shots on target. Rafael Navarro headed a ball off the post in the second half while Djordje Mihailovic had a shot in the 72nd minute pushed away by Pedro Gallese.

All Orlando would turn out to need on the night was a 24th minute goal from Martin Ojeda. The goal was setup by Marco Pasalic who dribbled into the area and fed Ojeda who left-footed a hard shot that Nick Hansen got a hand on, but went straight up into the roof of the net.

Orlando move ahead of Inter Miami to fifth in the Eastern Conference table, though Miami is currently participating in the FIFA Club World Cup and currently have two matches in hand on the Lions.

The Rapids’ next match will be Wednesday, June 25th, when they host defending champions LA Galaxy. Kickoff is at 7:30pm MT on Apple TV.
