FC Dallas 0-0 Philadelphia Union

FRISCO, TX–Despite going down a man, FC Dallas manages to keep Philadelphia Union off the scoresheet and play to a goalless draw at Toyota Stadium with the Eastern Conference leaders. However, it also means FC Dallas go the entire month of May winless at 0-3-3. Their last win was the 4-3 upset over Inter Miami.

The hosts came close early twice with both Patrickson Delgado and Anderson Julio shot just wide within a minute of each other. Dallas would end up a man down in the 39th minute after Lalas Abubakar got a second yellow taking down Chris Donovan.

To the good fortune of the FC Dallas, the Union’s finishing was lacking on this night. The visitors had 23 shots to FC Dallas’s seven, but only one of those 23 shots was on target. That one shot on target came in the 67th minute as Maarten Paes batted away a Jovan Lukic on the volley. Dallas themselves managed two shots on goal, though neither troubled goalkeeper Andrew Rick that much.

Philadelphia’s unbeaten streak in the league extends to nine, but FC Dallas will be more pleased with the result playing a man down for 51 minutes, plus ten minutes total of stoppage time.
