FC Dallas 2-1 Sporting Kansas City

FRISCO, TX–FC Dallas got their first home win of the season with a 2-1 decision over Sporting Kansas City. The win propels FC Dallas to fifth in the Western Conference table while Sporting KC remain bottom of the West and one of five teams in MLS still without a win this season (0-5-1).

All of the scoring in this match came in a seven-minute span. The visitors got on the board first in the 32nd minute as Shapi Suleymanov sent a diagonal ball across to an unmarked Daniel Salloi who then beat Maarten Paes far post.

The lead would last just five minutes as FCD’s tandem of Petar Musa and Lucho Acosta pulled the hosts level. After a takeaway at midfield, Musa held the ball in the box against three Sporting KC defenders before laying off to Acosta who stuck it home. Ninety seconds later, Sebastian Lletget sent a low cross into the box and found an unmark Leo Chu who scored from inside the six-yard box to give FCD the lead and the eventual match winner.

FC Dallas go on the road next Saturday to take on Atlanta United (6:30pm CT, Apple TV) while Sporting Kansas City will look to finally get their first win of the season at home against I-70 rival St. Louis CITY SC (7:30pm CT, Apple TV).
