Charlotte FC welcomes Karol Świderski back to the squad as they prepare to take on Austin FC

Charlotte FC’s next stop on their four-match road trip is Austin, Texas to take on Austin FC.

Charlotte is coming off a trip to Ohio where they played both FC Cincinnati and the Columbus Crew. The Ohio trip saw Charlotte get four out of the six possible points with a commanding 3-1 win over FC Cincinnati before going to Columbus and scoring a late goal to get a point against the Crew. Despite the good results for Charlotte, they did not move up in the MLS Eastern Conference standings and remain in sixth place.

Austin FC is coming off a 3-1 loss to in-state rivals FC Dallas. In the match against Dallas, Sebastián Driussi received a red card and will serve a suspension for the upcoming match with Charlotte. Austin sits at 10th place in the MLS Western Conference while scoring just 26 goals this season and allowing 35.

Charlotte will be getting some reinforcements for the match. The club’s all-time leading goal scorer, Karol Świderski, is returning from his loan to Hellas Verona FC and will be available for selection. Świderski will provide Charlotte with some much-needed help in the striker spot as Patrick Agyemang has been the club’s only true striker since the departure of Enzo Copetti earlier this season.

The match between Charlotte FC and Austin FC is set for Saturday, July 20 with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST. Streaming will be available on Apple TV MLS Season Pass.
