Charlotte FC looking for second consecutive in upcoming match with Columbus Crew

Charlotte FC is preparing to take on the reigning MLS Cup Champions Columbus Crew in a midweek matchup.

Charlotte is coming off a big 3-1 win against first-place FC Cincinnati. In the previous match, Charlotte had three different goal scorers with Ashley Westwood assisting all three goals and being named Player of the MatchDay. Charlotte sits in sixth place in the MLS Eastern Conference after the win with 27 goals scored, 24 goals allowed and a record of 10-8-5.

The last time out for Columbus was a dominating 5-1 win over Los Angeles FC. The win put Columbus at third place in the Eastern Conference while being second in the Eastern Conference in goals scored with 45 and having the fewest goals allowed with 19.

Charlotte will face a big challenge in the match as Columbus has been a high scoring team and is the only team with fewer goals allowed than Charlotte this year. However, Charlotte does hold the advantage over Columbus in the matchup historically with a 2-1-2 record.

The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 17 and will be streaming on Apple TV MLS Season Pass.
