Jonathan Rodriguez and Santiago Moreno on Team of the Matchday

What a win over a depleted Nashville SC on Sunday, with Jonathan Rodriguez delivering a brace and back-to-back goals in the 21st and the 24th minutes to seal what became a route over a struggling Nashville side.

As Jonathan Rodriguez scored his first brace for the Portland Timbers, the Rose City side delivered a win despite Evander’s suspension for accumulating yellow cards.

Santiago Moreno had a fantastic game, providing two assists for two goals in the first half, one for Jonathan Rodriguez and the other for Eryk Williamson, which secured the lead for the Timbers.

In the end, Santiago Moreno was selected for the bench as the Rose City team placed two players in the MLS Team of the Week.

The Portland Timbers secured an impressive victory, propelling them to fifth place with 33 points, just four behind the Colorado Rapids, who are currently in fourth place with 37 points. The Timbers are on a winning streak and proved themselves on Matchday 25.
