FC Dallas 3-2 Portland Timbers

FRISCO, TX–FC Dallas maintain their brilliant record at home by holding off Portland Timbers, 3-2, at Toyota Stadium. FCD are now 6-3-2 at home and move to within five points of the playoffs places. Portland see a seven-match unbeaten streak end and drop to 6th place in the Western Conference.

Portland got on the board first in the eighth minute as Evander sent a long ball that connected with Antony who had his initial shot stopped by Maarten Paes, but would get his own rebound and score. FCD came out the better side at the start of the second half and scored four minutes in as Tsiki Ntsabeleng sent a through ball to Petar Musa who scored from 12 yards out to level the score.

Nkosi Tafari gave FC Dallas the lead just after the hour mark heading in a corner from Sebastien Llegett. The lead would last just two and a half minutes as Antony led a counter attack and sent a low cross to Evander who pulled the visitors level in the 63rd minute.

FC Dallas would take the lead in the 87th minute after Bernard Kamungo’s cross was accidentally headed in by Cristhian Paredes. Portland had a late chance to snatch a point in stoppage time, but Evander’s free kick would go off the crossbar.

FC Dallas next go on the road, where they are currently winless on the year, to face Sporting Kansas City on Sunday at 7:30pm CT (Apple TV). Portland also play on Sunday at home to Nashville SC (7:30pm PT, Apple TV).
