Poole Pirates continued their impressive start to the season with victory over the Birmingham Brummies at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.

Pirates set the tone for the night with a maximum 5-1 in the opening heat via Steve Worrall and Zach Cook.The visitors cut the deficient in heat two with their first win of the night through Stefan Nielsen, however Pirates responded as true champions do with another heat maximum in heat three, compliments of Richard Lawson and Ben Cook.

Heat four was shared before Poole banged in another maximum with the duo of Lawson and Ben Cook teaming up for their second 5-1 of the night.

By heat seven, Birmingham found themselves 12 points down, with team manager Laurence Rogers opting to use a tactical substitute by bringing in the reigning British champion Adam Ellis.The tactic paid of with Ellis taking the chequered flag and Ashley Morris finishing second for the visitors first 5-1 of the evening.

The points were shared in the next heat before Lawson won heat nine with Ellis taking third to extend Pirates lead to ten points.

The next three heats were shared before Pirates produced their fourth maximum of the night with Worrall and King taking first and second in heat 13.

The penultimate heat of the night was shared before Pirates ended the evening in grand style with King and Worrall giving Poole another 5-1 to round of the evening.Steve Worrall top scored for the hosts with 13+2 with King picking up 12 points from five rides and Lawson 10+2 on the night.
