The current holders of the Tom Reseigh trophy took a six-point lead after the opening quarter after a fast start from the hosts, which they carried on throughout the first fifteen minutes to lead at the end of the buzzer 17-11.
The visitors hit back in the second quarter to take the period 18-17, but still trailed going into the break by six goals.
Mikki Austin came off in the third quarter along with Sophia Candappa and Sophie Kelly from the bench. Wasps went toe to toe with Storm in the third quarter, at one time cutting the gap to three points, before Storm responded to stretch the lead to five goals heading into the final quarter.
Whatever Wasps threw at Storm, the hosts responded to build on their lead. At one point they held a nine-goal cushion, which they never let slip and eventually ended up deserved winners and in so doing retain the trophy.
In the weekend’s other Vitality Netball Superleague action, Manchester Thunder made it nine wins from nice after a narrow 51-48 victory over London Pulse.
Loughborough Lightning kept on the heels of the Thunder after maintaining their unbeaten start to the season by beating Severn Stars 70-56.
Elsewhere, Strathclyde Sirens got the better of Celtic Dragons 51-41 with Leeds Rhinos defeating Saracens Mavericks 53-5.
After week nine of the Vitality Netball Superleague season, Thunder leads the way with 27 points, three more than Lightning who have played one game less. At the bottom Dragons and Stars hold the bottom two places, both having won only one go so far this campaign.
