London Lions set for European clash with unbeaten BC Avtodor Saratov.

James Vear’s Lions side return to the Copper Box Arena in a FIBA Europe Cup game against the Russian outfit.

Covid postponements have disrupted the British Basketball League Championship season so far for the Lions. The Londoners have only played seven league games, and as such may have not been quite up to scratch for European competition.

Following defeat in the opening round of qualification in the Champions League, London Lions comfortably advanced in the first round of the Europe Cup. However, the second round proved a step to far for the British outfit, as an 0-4 run has seen them eliminated with two games remaining.

As such, this game provides nothing but an opportunity to restore a bit of pride in this European campaign. Although, coming up against the unbeaten Russians will prove easier said than done.

Isiah Reese has been London’s most productive player for the last three games, and will surely be a key factor if featured in this game.

Saratov’s Kenny Chery has proved a force to be reckoned with for the Russians and will look to guide his team to 5-0 and regain control of the group.
