After winning race two, Jack Doohan lined up on pole position for the second consecutive race with Victor Martins alongside him on the front row.

Aleksandr Smolyar qualified third ahead of Caio Collet in fourth, Logan Sargeant in fifth, Clement Novalak in sixth, Frederik Vesti in seventh, David Schumacher in eighth, Johnathan Hoggard in ninth, Roman Stanek in 10th, Jak Crawford in 11th and race one winner Lorenzo Colombo in 12th.

With the rain coming down, the race started behind the Safety Car and after three formation laps, the green flag was waved and the drivers go up to racing speed.

Doohan got away well but second place Martins put the pressure and didn’t allow the Trident driver from getting an early advantage.

Hoggard took eighth place as the Jenzer Motorsport’s driver overtook Schumacher to make up a position.

Matteo Nannini’s struggles continued, as after yesterday’s retirement, the HWA driver was in the pits early on after he picked up damage.

Championship leader Dennis Hauger was on the move as he took 11th place from Jak Crawford and looked destined for a points finish. Moments later, the Norweigan was in the points as he overtook Stanek for 10th.

On lap five, Martins made the move for the lead of the race at turn nine. The Frenchman went side by side with Doohan but he was able to get ahead and into first. However, a lap later, Martins gave the position back to the Trident driver as he ran wide during the overtake.

Novalak gained a position as he got ahead of Sargeant with Doohan’s Trident teammate gaining fifth place.

Hauger gained another two places to move up to eighth. The Norweigan overtook Schumacher to gain an extra couple of points in his championship fight with Doohan.

Charouz’s Sargeant dropped down another place as he fought with Vesti for sixth place but the Mercedes Junior driver got through to take the place off the American.

In the end, Doohan was able to claim victory ahead of Martins who thought he’d taken the lead of the race after he made the move on lap five but he did so off track and gave the position back to the Australian. Smolyar finished third with Collet in fourth, Novalak in fifth, Vesti in sixth, Sargeant in seventh, championship leader Hauger in eighth, Schumacher in ninth and Leclerc rounding out the points positions in 10th.

What’s Next?

Jack Doohan scored 44 points and made inroads into Dennis Hauger’s championship lead with the Norweigan only able to score six points.

The Prema driver will look to have a better weekend at Zandvoort in a couple of days time as the title fight looks to go to the final two rounds.
