The Neath-born full-back was named Swans player of the season for 2020/21 and scored in Wales’ 2-0 win over Turkey at EURO 2020.
However, in what turned out to be their final game of the tournament against Denmark, he sustained a groin injury that will keep him absent until early October.
Since the age of six, Roberts has been a Swans player, graduating through the clubs’ academy and making his debut in 2018 against Wolves.
Last season, he won the clubs’ player of the year award as they just missed out on promotion to Brentford, grabbing five goals and seven assists as an ever-present.
And according to the Daily Mail, Burnley have turned their attention to the Wales international having looked at Everton’s Jonjoe Kenny.
There has not yet been any sign of an approach for Roberts as of yet (WalesOnline). But with the 25-year-old’s contract running out next June, there is a decision to be made whether he is crucial enough to risk losing on a free. Especially when he is arguably Swansea’s most sellable asset.
He could still play a huge role next season as Swansea push for Premier League promotion, so it will certainly be entertained as a saga in South Wales this summer.
