Wolves face Dragons for the second time in two weeks as they face off in Challenge Cup Quarter Final.

The focus for eight Super League sides turns to the Challenge Cup this week.

With the holder’s Leeds Rhinos knocked out in the previous round, there is a big opportunity for the remaining sides to win silverware early in the season with the final at Wembley on July 17th.

Two sides who have previously won the Challenge Cup in the past three years come head to head for the second time in two weeks, as Catalan Dragons face Warrington Wolves at Headingley Stadium on Friday night.

The Dragons won the competition in 2018, beating the Wolves in the final 20-14. Steve McNamara has seen an excellent start to the season from his side winning five of their opening six games of the season. The only defeat coming against Warrington.

Steve Price’s finally got his hands on the trophy in 2019 beating St Helens 18-4 under the Wembley arch.

Warrington go into the game unbeaten in their last five games – which includes a victory against the side from the South of France just two weeks ago. Price will be hoping his side can replicate that performance come Friday night.

In his weekly press conference, Steve Price said this on his Challenge Cup memories “I remember watching it growing up, getting up early in the morning with my father. It’s got a rich history. I am very honoured to be a part of it.”

He added “ We are really excited, it’s going to be a different challenge to what it was two weeks ago. It’s knockout footie now in the challenge cup.”

His side have had recent success in the Challenge Cup, reaching the final in both 2018 and 2019. “ As a club we pride ourselves on doing well in this competition and it is no different come Friday night.”
