Verschoor and Beckmann topped the timings charts in Day Two of F2 Testing around Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Richard Verschoor and David Beckmann were the two that topped the timing charts in Day Two of F2 Testing in Barcelona.

Morning

MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor was on top after a strong showing in the morning session of Day Two. The Dutchman’s lap time of 1:28.280 was the quickest time of F2 Testing so far.

Ralph Boschung followed in second place with the Campos driver’s lap time two-tenths slower than Verschoor’s with Felipe Drugovich seven-hundredths slower in third.

Marcus Armstrong was a further tenth behind the UNI-Virtuosi in an impressive fourth for the DAMS driver. Bent Viscaal was five-thousandths slower than the Kiwi in fifth.

Armstrong’s teammate, Roy Nissany, was two-hundredths slower than the Trident of Viscaal in sixth with Theo Pourchaire seven-hundredths slower than the Israeli in seventh.

Lirim Zendeli was eighth narrowly ahead of the second ART of Christian Lundgaard who finished the morning in ninth ahead of Hitech’s Liam Lawson who rounded out the top 10.

Juri Vips was not far behind his teammate in 11th and was closely followed by Guanyu Zhou with the Chinese driver eight-thousandths slower than the Estonian in 12th.

The first Carlin of Jehan Daruvala was not much slower than the UNI-Virtuosi, only four-thousandths slower and settling for P13.

Gianluca Petecof was sandwiched in between two Carlin’s as the Campos driver finished the morning in 14th ahead of Dan Ticktum in 15th.

Prema had another session where they were unable to get into the top five with Oscar Piastri in 16th and Robert Shwartzman in 18th with Marino Sato splitting the two Prema’s in 17th.

The two Charouz’s and HWA Racelab’s were at the back of the grid with Guilherme Samaia ahead of David Beckmann to win the Charouz battle and Matteo Nannini ahead of Alessio Deledda to win the HWA Racelab battle.

Afternoon

The Charouz of David Beckmann came out on top in the afternoon with the German setting a 1:29.384 which put him into first late on in the session.

Beckmann’s teammate, Guilherme Samaia, was not far behind in second, 0.126 seconds slower than Beckmann. Morning’s quickest driver Richard Verschoor finished the afternoon in third, over half a second slower than the leading Charouz car.

Gianluca Petecof finished a fantastic fourth ahead of compatriot Felipe Drugovich who was fifth ahead of MP Motorsport’s Lirim Zendeli in sixth.

Matteo Nannini followed in seventh with the rest of the pack four seconds off Beckmann’s lap time. Christian Lundgaard was eighth and was 4.173 seconds slower than the German’s Charouz with Ralph Boschung and Robert Shwartzman rounding off the top 10.

Theo Pourchaire was over five seconds slower than the pace set by Beckmann in 11th ahead of the Hitech duo of Liam Lawson and Juri Vips.

Bent Viscaal finished the afternoon in 14th ahead of Roy Nissany in 15th, Oscar Piastri in 16th and Guanyu Zhou in 17th.

The second Trident of Marino Sato had to settle for 18th narrowly ahead of Marcus Armstrong and Jehan Daruvala with Dan Ticktum and Alessio Deledda the two slowest drivers, over six seconds slower than Beckmann’s fastest time of the afternoon.
