The game started off at a hectic pace with a few tackles flying in from both sides in the first ten minutes.
To keep with the season so far, Bohs goal was a self-inflicted wound by Dundalk themselves.
A poor touch by Raivis Jurkovskis followed by a wild challenge by Daniel Cleary on the Bohs’ Ross Tierney left an easy decision for referee Rob Harvey to point to the spot. Georgie Kelly sent the keeper the wrong way and Bohs went 1-0 up after 12 minutes.
Dundalk had a shot come back off the cross bar but Bohs went in for the break 1-0 up.
After the restart Sam Stanton missed a big chance to make it 1-1 and you could see the Dundalk players were starting to feel the pressure.
Dundalk Manager Filippo Giovagnoli left his seat in the stands to make a treble switch on the hour mark, bringing on strikers Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe and Dave McMillan to try to bring a bit of pace to Dundalk’s attacking play. In the last five minutes Dundalk throw the kitchen sink at the Bohs defense, but Bohs hung on for the win.
Not since the 1998/99 season has Dundalk started a Premier League season winless after four games – they seem a shadow of the team that has been lifting cups a plenty in the last decade.
