Joe Weatherley signs new Hampshire contract

Hampshire batsman Joe Weatherley has signed a new contract at the cub until the end of next season after having a strong couple of seasons under his belt.

The top-order player came through the academy at the Ageas Bowl, making his first team debut back in 2016.

He was one of his side’s top performers last season in the Bob Willis Trophy, scoring 263 runs at an average of 43.83.

The 24-year-old is going to play a key role for his side this summer and they start their campaign two weeks today when they travel to the Midlands to face Leicestershire at Grace Road.
