Christian, 37 will come back to captain the side which he led to glory last season and will hope to continue his side’s brilliant recent record which has seen them reach four of the last five finals days.
Paterson will be available to the county in all three formats while Christian will just focus on the T20 side of the game.
The 31-year-old has played both Test Cricket and ODI for his country and will offer an extra dimension of pace to the Notts’ attack.
