England name trio of new coaches behind the scenes

England have named Marcus Trescothick, Jon Lewis & Jeetan Patel as coaches as they look ahead to a busy year of cricket which sees them feature in 17 Test Matches.

The former Somerset captain, Trescothick, will become the nations batting coach, replacing Mark Ramprakash who left in 2019.

Lewis will work with the fast bowlers moving forward will Patel will continue to work with the spinners having done so for the winter tours of Sri Lanka and India.

Gloucestershire head coach Richard Dawson will take Lewis’ role as Under-19 head coach moving forward having spent several years in Bristol.

James Foster and Chris Read have been sharing a consultancy role with the wicketkeepers after Bruce French retired at the end of last year.

England’s final Test Match of the India’ series gets underway in the early of hours of Thursday morning as England look to level the series with the hosts currently 2-1 to the good.
