England and India head to Ahmedabed locked at 1-1 ahead of Day Night Test Match

England and India can’t be separated at the halfway point of the four-match Test Series after the hosts levelled up in the second game thanks to a comfortable 317-run victory on the fourth day.

The third meeting of the series between the two teams is going to be much different to the previous two, a different colour ball, different timings and with it being the penultimate game of the series, there is plenty at stake, particuarly for the World Test Championship.

It’s also a first match for the newly built Motera stadium which holds a world record 110.000 spectators at full capacity, although it is likely to have a significant number of empty seats for the visit of Joe Root’s men.

In India, you generally expect spinners to dominate and come into their own but in the day night format, could offer much more to the seamers on both sides who James Anderson apart, have struggled to take too many wickets in the opening couple of games.


With the match not far from getting underway now, there looks as though the ground staff have left a good amount of grass on the surface which offers the faster bowlers much hope that they may have some favourable conditions even if asked to field first on day one.

The conditions throughout the game are expected to be dry with no cloud cover so that will limit the threat of the swing bowlers who often come into their own for the day night matches which has been seen previously.

You would expect it to be a much closer battle than in the previous couple of games with both sides each securing comfortable victory so so far and you can expect both to make several changes despite over a week between the ending of the last one and the start of this game

The action kicks off tomorrow morning at 9:00 am UK time and is available live to watch on Channel Four to viewers in the UK.
