The opener shared a stand of 114 with Cameron Bancroft 58*, while Mitch Marsh 49* also played well, helping the Scorchers reach a competitive 189-1 at the halfway mark.
Mitchell Sweepson was the pick of the Brisbane Heat bowlers, taking 1-26 from his four over, being the only bowler in his side to go under nine runs per an over.
The Heat never got going in reply and the contest was all but over when they were reduced to 57-4 midway through the eighth over as Jason Behrendorff picked up the key wickets of Chris Lynn and Joe Denly early on.
Joe Burns 38 did offer some resistance but it was never going to be enough as the Heat finished on 150-9 from their 18 overs, following some disruption to the weather, losing by 49 runs on the Duckworth Lewis method.
The win sets up a final against the Sydney Sixers at the SCG as the top two from the group stage face off in the final.
