Jack Simpson set to depart Bournemouth for Cardiff City

Bournemouth have accepted an offer for central defender Jack Stacey from Cardiff City, according to the Bournemouth Echo.

The defender was an unused sub in this afternoon’s 1-0 defeat against Luton Town.

Simpson came through the academy at the club and looks set end his ten year spell on the South Coast having made his debut back in 2017 against Middlesbrough.

His contract is set to expire this summer and the South Wales club are expected to pay a fee of £750,000 and has made 35 apperences for the team since his debut.

Jason Tindall does have a number of options in centre defence, with captain Steve Cook an ever present, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Diego Rico featured in that position today with Chris Mepham understood to not be too far from a return himself and Lloyd Kelly has featured there at times this season.

There could be a quick return for Simpson to the Vitality Stadium with the Bluebirds set to face Bournemouth away at the end of next month.
