Ten-man Woking see off the Bees to move into the top three

Woking moved up to second in the table after a convincing victory over a disappointing Barnet side.

Despite playing with ten men for almost an hour after Charlie Cooper was sent off, the Cards claimed all three points.

Kane Ferdinand opened the scoring, with the hosts lead doubled through a Jerome Binnom-Williams own goal. Despite the numerical disadvantage second half strikes from Max Kretzschmar and Dave Tarpey put the Cards in full control. The Bees did get a consolation goal a minute from time, but in truth deserved nothing from the game.

In previous matches, Woking have failed to start strongly. In this encounter nothing could be more further from the truth as the Cards raced into a two goal lead after 17 minutes.

Ferdinand broke the deadlock in the eighth minute with a sublime volley into the roof of the net. Woking doubled their advantage when Binnon-Williams headed into his own net.

After Cooper was dismissed for two yellow cards, Woking added to Barnet’s misery when Kretzschmar volleyed home from inside the area.

The visitors came close to pulling a goal back on 71 minutes when an Anthony Wordsworth header came of the inside of the post into the safe hands of Craig Ross.

Woking wrapped up the game late on when Kretzschmar turned provider by beating three men and laying the ball of to Tarpey who slotted home.

There was still time for Barnet to pull a goal back when Michael Petrasso scored from the spot kick, but it was little reward on a poor day for Barnet.
